Key management
In data processing and electronic funds transfer, the control of identification codes is unique to each financial institution in a network. Banks do not transmit a key in the clear that is in unencrypted form, but use a commonly accepted encryption formula to prevent unauthorized access. For security reasons, banks periodically change their codes, called issuer keys.
